Ice cream is now an art form, and there are even categories for ice cream labelled as artisanal alongside the usual gelato, sorbet and premium. Not to be left out of the loop, Stoyn, an independent ambient advertising firm based in Lobnya near Moscow, Russia founded in 2010 by Sergei Starostin and Victoria Mamikonova, have ventured into ice cream production last year. Aptly known as Stoyn Ice Cream (how creative!), their experimental project deals with the idea of creating hyper-real ice cream sculptures.

Stoyn ice cream are ice-cream that is shaped in the images of several key cultural figures of the 20th century, each with a unique flavour. For example, the Mayakovsky ice cream that is modelled after Russian and Soviet poet and playwright  Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky tastes like cranberry and vodka,  while the Darth Vader ice cream, modelled after the iconic “Star Wars” villain, Darth Vader (duh!), tastes like blueberry and licorice (no idea about the choice of blueberry, but licorice tastes as foul as his dark side) and Mario ice cream, modelled after the titular character from the successful “Super Mario Bros” video game franchise, which has the Tequila Sunrise flavour.

It goes without saying that every flavour reflects the role of these personalities in international culture, as Stoyn believes that the idea of the brand can be expressed in a multitude of ways: music, urban landscape, food.

Stoyn ice cream is sculpted by Michael Efimenko while the ice cream maker and ingredients are courtesy of Dolce Bacio. The firm has also launched their new line, Stoyn Ice-Scream, in the shapes of characters from the 80’s horror-movies.
Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Chucky (Child's Play) ice cream.
Pinhead (Hellraiser) and Jason (Friday The 13th) ice cream.
The question is: do you have the heart to eat such exquisite modelled ice cream?
